our story began with a shared vision: to regenerate the world’s coral reefs and protect marine biodiversity for future generations.
born out of the desire to tackle one of the planet’s most pressing environmental challenges, rrreefs was founded in 2020 by four female founders with backgrounds in science, art, and economics. Ulrike, Hanna, Marie, and Josephine each brought their unique skill set to the table, leading the company from an association to an impact-driven business by 2023.
the goal is clear: create a solution that helps regenerate coral reefs. our team combines scientific design with innovative engineering to create interlocking 3D-printed clay modules. these modules mimic natural reef structures, providing habitat for marine life and fostering coral growth.
through local partnerships, we’ve implemented projects worldwide – from Ecuador and Colombia, to the British Virgin Islands, Philippines and the Maldives, with many more sites planned.
today, rrreefs is not just about building reefs: it’s about fostering a movement of innovation, resilience, and hope for our oceans.
